West wind is improving fishing. The cold water is moving in and the strong north to south current has been diminished in most areas. The last three days of west wind has brought the temperature break to 65 feet. With currents down presentation is easier.

East wind and warm weather has brought the warm water into Milwaukee. Surface temperature is 60 with the Temperature break at 40 feet. It is important to check your down temps every trip as wind direction will rapidly change the thermocline and location of active fish.

Continuous west wind has pushed the warm water out of Milwaukee. Surface temperature is 55 with the coldest water north of the filtration plant. This has brought the fish to the top 40 feet. We are catching all five types of Lake Michigan fish Chinook, Coho and Lake, Brown and Rainbow Trout.

By Capt. Jim Hirt. April fishing is very good. Most of our charter trips are catching 18 to 22 fish. Mostly Browns with some Lake Trout, Rainbows and Chinooks.

Good numbers on Chinook, Browns and Lake Trout with an occasional Coho. The wind has kept the water cold near shore. The surface is 46 degrees with a break to 43 at 15 feet down. The fish have been high in the water column.

Musky and Pike action was hot this week in shallow water on bucktails and swim baits. Water temps are dropping fast and the baitfish are starting to move from the deep water to the shallow weed flats/edges.
