Snapper and Grouper caught deep dropping by

Charter vessel, Sunrise II, out of Atlantic Beach, NC, run by Capt. Bobby Freeman and mate Capt. Freddie Willis, caught six 15# snowy grouper plus 31 vermillion and silver snapper plus 41 trigger fish on October12 fishing from 160-630' deep. Total catch was almost 300#.

Seas were 3-4' in the morning but built to 7' by Noon making it difficult to stay on the triggerfish. We did better drifting than at anchor. Caught 57 triggerfish before 11:00 AM.

Gaffer Dolfin fishing was good wityh 17 landed for a total weight of 220#. Party from Fayetteville,NC used Penn Spinning outfits and Shimano TLD 25s to land the fish using Monk Lures with squid strips. Pink was best color.

Fall wahoo fishing out of Morehead City heating up! The bite was really good today and should only get better over the next several weeks. Some dolphin are still around with both gaffers and bailers in the mix. We also had a sailfish bite.

August fishing is generally slow and this year is no different. The Spanish bite has been pretty good and we did finally have a good day offshore.

Smaller dolphin are the norm when the water gets hot and we have caught a bunch. These fish are a lot of fun on lighter tackle and great to eat.
