What does a fishing guide do on his day off?? Go Fishin'!!

My girl and I had the alarm set this morning for well before daylight but hitting the snooze button too many times didn't really matter. We ended up on the water around 9:00 am in search of some good photos of her and some quality redfish, and that's what we got!

Fishing around 2 hours paid off with some fresh mullet chunks tossed in sand holes along a shallow bar in Mosquito Lagoon. Of course, I got skunked besides a catfish, but this trip was about her with a chance to do battle with a few reds. We ended our sun drenched 92 degree fishing trip with 8 reds up to 35 inches.

Find the right holes, cut yourself some fresh mullet, and kick back waiting for the fish to find you, instead of the other way around! This has worked well this week. Most of the sight fishing has been tough with very spooky fish. Chunks will get even the most novice angler to do battle with our resident reds.
