OH My, where do I start...Well today was by far one of the best days on the water in a long time. Not just for the impressive numbers of fish caught but the many (quality) different fish caught as well. We started out on a flat that holds Redfish to look for a school I fished last week, we quickly found them and started fishing them. The fish were about 20 pounds and about 100 of them as well. We had 3 go after our top water baits but missed the bait and soon after spooked off into the deeper waters to not be found again for the day. We moved to location 2 where we then wore them out. It was Redfish after Redfish with many double hook ups. As we continued to catch Reds we watched in amazement as Tarpon rolled around us, Big Trout also managed to eat a bait or 2 as we put a 5 pounder in the boat. I then started noticing Snook roaming around as well but we had the wrong bait for them. Later as we moved down the bank I located some nice Snook bait and netted up a few for just in case. As we moved to get back on the fish we found a large school of 30 pound Black Drum, but we could not get them to eat.I went back to where the Snook we spotted earlier was and soon after we now had a Snook at 5 pounds in the boat. Lets just say the fishing was off the hook today. I love these next few months and the bite will only get better.
