Lake Lanier, Georgia - Freshwater Fishing Report
Six Mile Creek
Bill Vanderford

Warming water and rising lake levels have the big spotted bass slowly moving toward the shallower spawning areas. Catching them for most folks has been a little tough, but I have been averaging more than 20 each day that weigh from 3 to 5 pounds. Most of these fish are holding on clay or rocky points at 15 to 25 feet. I'm keeping my boat in 30 to 35 feet and casting a 1/4 ounce Striper Swirleybird into about 10 feet and letting it settle to the bottom before reeling it slowly and letting it fall back on a tight line from time to time. It's slow fishing, but very productive. For more info, contact me at jfish51@aol.com or my web site at: www.fishinglanier.com
