Today's trip was with Ron Phillips and his good friend Skip from Orange City. Turns out the drive over to Mosquito Lagoon would pay off on this day.

Searching for the ever present black drum was unsuccessful as they were no where to be found. After spending some time in a few spots in the southern Lagoon with nothing but wind blown churned up water, I recalled a spot with some cleaner water. As we headed there with some nice cut mullet I was thinking......boy, this area has been producing some nice catches of reds lately.

In 90 minutes without moving, we boated 14 reds up to 26 1/2 inches with 3 or 4 going this size. Makes you wish it was tournament day! No giant redfish, but all were in the slot.

Good day on the water with two enjoyable anglers aboard. Makes the day even better!!
