With a pretty busy week running charters I was able to locate fish in several different spots on Mosquito Lagoon. Super Bowl Sunday, I had a double with a morning and afternoon charter. During our morning trip was a good day. On the water at 6:30 AM, well before daylight to an area where reds were bunched up very well from the day before. We arrived at the hole around 6:45AM to find nobody anywhere near us which was a good thing as the word "was out" on this area among the guides. The beauty of us guides on Mosquito Lagoon is we (most of us) all get along and work together, so it's not uncommon for us to work schools of redfish with each other.....which really pays off for our clients.

The Morning trip brought around 30 redfish to the boat with slot fish and rat reds. The afternoon trip was a little harder of a bite, but we still managed 7 or 8 reds along with 3 trout one going 7 pounds at 28".

Fishing is a year round thing on our inshore estuary so book now as February is filling fast but I do have days open. Located less than an hour from the Orlando area and 30 minutes from Daytona Beach.

Bio: Growing up on the east coast of Florida I started fishing at a very early age mostly on the inshore waters of the Indian River Lagoon. Now with the experience of learning every corner of the back waters and fish behavior patterns, I am a full time fishing guide on the Mosquito Lagoon. Besides writing monthly fishing reports for my website, Coastal Angler Magazine, and various other organizations, I also enjoy working with and am on the pro staff for Rip Tide Lures, High Roller Lures, Berkley, Pure Fishing, Daiichi Hooks, and Costa Del Mar Sunglasses.
