Seems as if you find the right sand area throughout the backwaters of Mosquito Lagoon with action such as larger mullet hanging in an area, reds and trout will be right along with them. My clients have been catching their share of all different size reds lasting throughout the afternoon. I've been throwing live or dead shrimp or soft plastics such as the Rip Tide swimming mullet or realistic shrimp. The fish are still very lathargic, so continue to slow down your presentation. Once you get a strike, let him eat it for several seconds before setting the hook....this has been the ticket to "hook up".
BIG...and I mean BIG spotted sea trout are everywhere but getting them to eat right now can be really frustrating. Poleing along a deeper slough the other day I must have seen well over 20 trout going in the 7-10 pound range! Stealth and patience!
