Slot reds on docks and bull reds in the bay - Pensacola Fishing
I love this time of year with its cool temps and monster redfish; it can't get much better or can it? Not only are the big reds biting, but so are the slots and they too are plentiful in the sound, you just have to know where to look. Sorry I can't give away my honey holes. With the inshore bite red-hot right now I can't see why anyone would stay at home if they had the day off.
I took a few days off from the upper bay areas to scout out some spots in the lower sound and it paid off with lots of slot reds. I also spotted some nice trout, so on some of my next few trips we'll try and get them to smash a bait.
I have a buddy who fished the upper bay the past couple of days and that area is also holding some nice fish. Looks like the inshore bite is very good all over.
Going back to the bull reds, they are here, but not crazy thick, you just have to know where to look, and sometimes it takes a little bit to find them, but once you do it's drag-screaming fun. I think another week or so and it's going to be off the chain!
I'll be out all this week with the perfect weather so stay tuned for some great action shots along with some new video I'll be shooting during the next couple of weeks. Inshore slot redfish action and big bull red action! It's gonna be a good time.
Dan and Stephany had fun landing these two big reds
Bob and Ed had a great time fishing docks for slot reds
