Long boat ride in very dense fog proved to be well worth it this past Friday March the 13th. For some reason the Trout had slowed down last week so Friday fishing with Mike Shrauger we headed to a small creek to try the reds at the low incoming tide.
Blue crabs have been hard to come by recently but luckily I was able to scrape up 9. We had plenty of shrimp and mud minnows but the Reds didn't want anything but crab.
And it was a waiting game as well. We spread 3 rods out along the shell mound with a half of blue crab on each after throwing shrimp and minnows for about an hour.
In less than 10 minutes the first rod bent double and it was on…
We stayed in that one spot using every crab we had to boat 7 Reds to 7pounds and missing 3 other good bites. You would think they would eat a nice shrimp when you put it in front of them but not this day.
No crab no Red fish was the saying for the morning!!!
Thanks for a great time Mike
