Inshore:

We finally had a cold front come through the area that cooled things off a bit, but not the fishing! Water temperatures will cool off a bit, but you can bet they will warm up quickly again. Fishing has been wonderful out on the river. A little wind and cold can't stop us from having fun out on the water!

Ron, Mike and Timberly were one on a day of trout, bluefish and other species in spite of a windy day out on the river. Ralph spent a morning out of the winds and caught 17 redfish in a short time around the mangroves. Bill and son, Chris, weren't about to come up short on their morning and boated 15 redfish that day. All the reds ranged in the 20 - 24 inch slot. DOA grub tails and live bait accounted for most of our catch.

Trout are still hanging on the flats. Most have come in three to five feet of water. DOA jerk baits, Deadly Combos and live bait are all working well for trout. There have been some bluefish cruising on the flats as well. Snook fishing has been best around the jetties and sea walls, mostly at night. There are plenty of sheephead around the bridges, docks and structure of the river.

We have a few more weeks of winter to worry about for now. Expect more windy days ahead though. Fishing has been great out there so plan on getting out soon!

The Treasure Coast Casters are having a yard sale this saturday, February 18th, to raise money for the group. The location will be at Dockside Inn in Fort Pierce. It's a non-profit FREE club for the kids to learn about boating and fishing and have lots of fun! Check them out on Facebook!

As always, remember, fishing is not just another hobby....it's an ADVENTURE!!

Good Fishing and Be Safe,

Captain Charlie Conner
