Still a little cool in the mornings but the last few days have been beautiful. It's supposed to be great weather the next few days thru the Easter weekend.

Along with the nice weather comes all the fair weather fisherman also. A word to the wise, TRY CRANKING YOUR BOAT AND MAKING SURE ALL IS READY TO GO BEFORE YOU BACK DOWN THE BOAT RAMP AND HOLD EVERY ONE UP!!!!

Fishing yesterday with Phil Baker and his son it was just what the doctor ordered. A red fish for the young man was the goal and I would say mission accomplished. We caught 8 Reds with the largest one being 30 inches and several nice 3 pound Drum.

After that we just headed in with a good feeling and very happy kid. Watching kids catch fish is such a good feeling for me. I know my father watched me catch plenty when I was young.

The water temp is still about 62 but with this warm weather it should come up quick. I look for the Flounder to start showing in the next few weeks so its time to dust off the gigs

Bio: Being a native of Northeast Florida I have enjoyed the excellent fishing and wildlife this area has to offer. I have been fishing the Jacksonville Florida area over 30 years with many a memorable fishing trip starting when I was a kid. We are in between and only minutes away from Amelia Island and St. Augustine, we can enjoy the fishing any direction. From downtown to the mouth of the ocean and all the back water in between.
