I have had good luck with wild shiners around the pads for catching bass , a few have been also caught on top water frogs worked slowly through the pads, lots of 3to 5 pounders and now and then a 8 plus.

Specks have been biting on small black and chartruse hair jigs worked down through holes in the grass and bonnets around deep water in the outside bends of the river .
