Finely engineered, over engineered. Slightly less fit& finish the Alutecnos but also $150-200+ cheaper. Definitely better than Penn & Shimano. Take one apart and you will see why it has the best drag system in the world. Big, thicker, more durable parts. The drag scale is awesome once you figure out how to apply it to your fish fighting. Not many people even own a hand drag scale and even few use it on every reel, prior to every trip. So the integrated scale will make you think about your drag management during the fight and will get you to the dock with bigger fish. one down side is Everol customer service and marketing is the US has been crappy for the past few years. The bright spot is they are built like battle wagons so for most guys service intervals are measured in decades, not seasons or even in fish like the new Penns. There is a rumor floating around on the internet that US ops are being bought out and big improvements are on the way. If you want the best at a great price, buy an Everol. If you are hung up on a name that your buddy's will recognize buy a Shimano or Penn.
