Rating: Everol 4 Ever

These are 5 star reels, but I gave them a 4 because due to the price now being a little more than Penn and Shimano. However, over the life time of the reel or more accurately your lifetime, the overall cost is probably cheaper than the other 2 manufacturers. They are tanks and will last forever if you wash them off after every trip. A friend in New England turned me on to this no-name brand. It turns out the reels have been around forever, but there is no advertising in the US. The buddy in N.E. uses them for monster tuna and swords, which he said can burn up Penn is short order. John switched because he was getting 5-10 times more use before drag rebuild and the side plate drag scale helps him boat a lot more fish. In TX, we don't have those monster fish, but kings, amber jack, and wahoo can pull you around pretty good too. Anyway I have been incredibly pleased with my investment. Ebayed my old stuff and filled the rod holders with Everols. Unless it's a spinning reel I will never buy anything else other than an EVEROL!
