Quantum Cabo PTs Spinning Reels Reviews

Details:Look out Shimano and Penn. We have been a big fan of the Shimano Stradic Reels, however after testing the Cabo PTs series; we are looking at closely at this reel. This is a great inshore reel and the recently introduced CSP70PTs and CSP80PTs are very capable offshore reels for your pelagics and other big game fish.

The small reels come standard with 8 bearing and have up to 10 Polymer stainless hybrid PT bearings in the larger reels of this series. This reel provided a smooth experience fishing for snook and redfish on the flats with braid. The reel specs say it has a trademarked Saltguard 6 layer corrosion protection fishing. This may come in handy for those that don’t take as good care of reels as they should.

At this price point, we don’t think you will find a better reel. You may find the Shimano reels to be very comparable and just as good, but personal preference may come into play. This reel is truly world class and we expect to see many more of them on the water.

Match these reels to your favorite fishing spinning rods and get out there and worry about catching fish, not your tackle.

This reel spooled with braid will hold about 300 yards and paired with the right rod, you can catch some big fish! I use this rod everywhere I go and have a travel tube for it. I paired it with a custom rod from a tackle shop in texas, however I have an ugly stick that is rated for 40lbs that can handle big fish while also being able to cast at smaller fish too. A good all purpose combo.

This is my inshore reel that I use for Reds. For the price, I have found it to be better than the rest. A minimum 8 bearings on all models. Pretty rad!

this reel has exceeded my expectations. I generally don't like to spend over $100 on my light tackle spinning reels, but this reel was worth every penny. When you have a big striped bass taking off line, you don't worry about this reel going broke on you. I have 1 so far, but plan to have 4 of these on the boat.
