Cowlitz River Hot Bite Screeches to a Halt! by Scott Warter (7/27/2006)
On 7/21 the City of Tacoma WA Utilities increased water flows in the Cowlitz River from 3500 CFS to 5500 CFS which is unseasonably high, this created the algae to break loose and tumble down the River collecting on your line and bait making it almost impossible to get a good drift in. Fishing was excellent up to that point today the River is running at 5210 CFS and the Algae is still in the system.
