Redfishing today was pretty decent for a 2 1/2 hour trip with a friend to the back waters of Mosquito Lagoon. Caught 4 in the slot (18 - 27 inches) and 2 shortys. Coming back to the boat ramp in the ICW the tarpon were a rollin! Just goofing around my partner was casting a Rip Tide jerkbait in over 15 feet of water. Out of no where an estimated 20 - 30 pound tarpon crashed his "flats" bait and totally missed it! Pretty cool to see though, tarpon showing up. The biggest we seen was around 50 pounds. Now, if we had a few mullet in the 10 inch range, we most likely would have hooked one of the silver kings.
