Back to the salt water this past weekend with some beautiful weather and some picky fish! I usually don't sit in one spot for long but knowing there were some nice fish in this one area and such a nice morning that's what we did for 2 hours.

We couldn't see the Drum but the Reds were showing off and not eating. Sometimes it's a waiting game and if you can wait long enough it pays off…

We only got 3 bites but they were good fish. One nice Red and 2 nice Drum. So the wait was not for nothing.

Then it was off to throw some plastics for the Trout. Now this was no waiting game. Even though there was no size to the Trout it was a fish almost every cast. We must have caught 40 Trout before we decided it was time to put the boat on the hill.

The weather we are having is the corner we have been waiting to turn. I think spring is certainly on its way and we all know what that means as far as the fishing goes. It also want be long until the Flounder gigging starts up and that is one of my favorite things to do.

Bio: Being a native of Northeast Florida I have enjoyed the excellent fishing and wildlife this area has to offer. I have been fishing the Jacksonville Florida area over 30 years with many a memorable fishing trip starting when I was a kid. We are in between and only minutes away from Amelia Island and St. Augustine, we can enjoy the fishing any direction. From downtown to the mouth of the ocean and all the back water in between.
