July 2, 2006: The Frank party landed five blue fin tuna in the 35-40 pound range. They kept one and lost a 70 pounder at the transom. They also landed two pretty gaffer dolphin and a king mackerel.

July 1, 2006: Finally a beautiful day without wind! Wilbur Jordan's party took advantage of the nice weather landing 79 flounder. By the end of the day, they had 14 flounder in the cooler along with a trout, four sea mullet and a croaker. A second trout was thrown back.

June 24, 2006: The action was steady for the Brenner party. They landed 72 flounder with 11 keepers today. A grey trout was also among the catch.

June 20, 2006: Stephen Judge's party caught 12 flounder with three keepers for a half day of fishing. The water was murky from the previous day's wind.

June 18, 2006: John Beaver's party fished for half a day and landed 28 flounder with six keepers. The three children on board had plenty of action during for the afternoon with one of the flounders measuring 21-1/4 inches and another at 20 inches.

June 16, 2006: The water cleared after the passage of Tropical Storm Alberto and the John Myers' party caught 54 flounder with 15 keepers--three in the four pound class measuring 20-21 inches. They also landed two croakers, two sea mullet, and a 15 inch speckled trout. The flounder bite definitely turned on with the improved weather conditions. I look for fishing to only get better with the arrival of croaker and sea mullet. I'm optimistic that the flounder bite will continue also.

Tuna have arrived in the waters off of Wachapreague, and I expect fishing to be excellent as the weather and conditions improve.

June 15, 2006: Alicia Wine's party fished for half the day, the day after tropical storm Alberto left 4-5 inches of rain in the area. As a result, the water was stained and fishing was poor. Despite the conditions, they managed to land 5 throwback flounder and a small grey trout.
