On Friday we had a Mark Lane and his crew of 11 anglers down to fish with us on a drop dead gorgeous day on the Atlantic ocean. We steamed up the coast and traveled many miles without seeing much activity in the early morning hours but around 10 am things started to come together and it was wide open once again. A mega bird show and a huge school of stripers and bluefish were found and we went at it. This school of fish was working its way slowly down the coast and eating everything in site. It was absolute total chaos in the cockpit with every rod in our spread dumping on each pass. An assload of bluefish in the mix today kept Danny the mate busy and our plastics were constantly being whacked. No problem limiting the guys out with their 26 striper limit and the crew opted to keep 31 of the bigger bluefish averaging about 10 pounds. The stripers ranged from 28-41 inches and were healthy looking. This was an awesome trip and plenty of cranking action had by all. A big thanks to the crew for helping the mate out on this trip. With this many bluefish in the mix it is nice to have a group of guys who know the deal and dont mind pitching in to keep our spread straight. Good job guys! It was a pleasure having you aboard!

Bio: I was was born on Gwynns Island in Virginia and grew up in a commercial fishing environment and I still currently hold commercial fishing licenses. I have been fishing the Chesapeake Bay and Virginia Beach waters for many many years, in fact my entire life from when I was a little boy growing up on Gwynn's Island, Virginia. I started chartering part time in 1997 before going full time into it in 2000. I am on my 3rd boat as of now and each time I moved up to a bigger and better charter boat. I started out with a six pack boat (6 persons max), moved into an inspected boat in 2001 (6 plus anglers) and had my current boat custom built in 2006. During my fishing and boating career I was at one time a mate and engineer on a tugboat which was really tough but exciting work. I am proud to say I was once featured in Bay Splash Magazine as a Chesapeake Bay Captain and I also write fishing reports for "Rivah" Magazine. I love to fish and meet new people especially when I am turning them on to the sport. Because of my strong commercial fishing background I have alot of respect for those guys which is also where I got much of my fishing experience. I am on the water at least 320 days of the year every year. I hope you find or take the time to enjoy yourself by taking a fishing trip with me, I will put you on the fish and send you home with some great memories to talk about with all your friends.
