The tarpon fishing has been good.  We have been seeing those perfect size fish in the 50 to 80lb range that make for a great battle, photo and quick release.  Last night, we had a wonderful crew with us.   The conditions were pretty good with bait and fish around the inlets and bays.

We fished the incoming tide looking for the bites, but the fish were not turned on just yet.  I knew as soon as the tide flipped it wouldn't take long and that is exactly what happened.  Once the tide started going out we threw our crabs into the current and let them naturally fall back.  It was almost non stop from there with the first fish this beautiful permit!  Way to go!

And then we followed it up with another!  They did great getting these brutes to the boat!

A permit is an extra special catch.  They use those big heads to stem into the current and put up one heck of a fight.  They are prized amongst all fisherman, especially on the flats and I just love when my clients get tight on them and get a true trophy out here.

As we continued to drift with lines out the tarpon started to chew!  We were getting those fish in the 50 pound range that are perfect all anglers of all experience levels, especially beginners.

Our crew did a great job getting these fish to the boat for a quick release.

We caught 2  species of the biscayne slam and our anglers were beat.  It was a beautiful day of fishing.

Thank you very much for choosing Lunker Dog Sportfishing.  We are heading out again tonight and look forward to seeing if we can do it again.
