just wanted to say thanks to all the people that fished with braunsoutdoors last year.looking forward to another great year. with the new baits on the market,such as gulp alive and all gulp products.that made the 08 season one to remember . early may threw june .casting to the rock shelfs in about 10 to 15 ft with gulp gobys produced nice smallmouth . verticle jigging and drop shotting in july threw late november was also producing nice fish . in the spring time when looking for an area to fish . look for some nice boulders to cast or drift over in 10 to 15 ft. these areas will hold nice fish just about any were in the lake ,when the fish are pre spawn. the rocks or boulders will warm up faster in the spring time ,when the weather is still unstable. these fish will move into these areas and find the target temp that they will be looking for . tube baits along with berkeley gulp products will produce nice fish in these target areas. green pumpkin and smoke colors are some of the best colors to use. early july threw late november .the bigger fish will move out into deeper water . look for structure,like . fast breaks,deep rock piles, some times just a slight change in depth will hold fish along these areas.try to target deeper water .in the range of 25 to 45. these bigger smallmouth will hold there threw the summer ,when the water gets to about 69 to 74. do not over look suspended fish ,in these areas. try verticle jigging along with casting and retreiving your bait back to the boat ,with a slow hop motion. try some of these patterns ,the next time you are out looking for some big smallmouth bass. or let captain tim of brauns outdoors bass charters & guide service. show how to locate fish in all seasons . mention this article and take $25 off your next trip
