Winter has not been kind to us who are waiting for the lake, bays, and marinas to become ice free so that we may begin fishing again. This last week's warmer weather and high winds helped in bringing us open waters and encouragement that the season will soon begin. Another good sign is that the "Kelleys Island Ferry" started running this week, which will help in keeping the area waters clear of ice.
So keep your eyes on the weather and lake conditions. Also, watch for the the report from the Great lakes Fishery Commissions concerning fish limits for 2010. Hopefully, a fishing report will be coming soon with good catches of walleye and perch.
Most of us are busy getting our boats ready and will be going into the water soon. Until then
