Hope everybody had great 4th of July. Fishing with clients on the 4th turned out great for my clients despite very heavy boat traffic on the Sarasota Intercoastal Waterway. Redfish action was absolutely fantastic using shrimp and tossing them into the dark shadows around docks. This tactic seems to work well on those boiling hot days. The reds, I find, like to hide in the shade when it's hot and can't resist a hand select shrimp lookin' em in the face. After a few hours hard pullin redfish we decided to head north to check out Rattlesnake Key in Terra Ceia Bay. With a nice hard outgoing tide my clients caught about two dozen snook with a 31 inch snook taking the top prize. The fishing this year has been fantastic! If you're up for a trip give a call!
