Rockfishing is open below the 37 11N line, below Half Moon Bay, about 18 miles. The Huli Cat ran below Pigeon Point, the approximate marker line. The anglers landed two nice lingcod and threw bask two fish just a tick under. The balance of the roughly half limits were 15 gophers, a few vermillion and several black rockfish. The weather was pleasnat, the winds moderated, so the drift started at .6 of a knot until it picked up when the wind picked up. Fishing was better with the slower drift.
As a reminder, rockfish opens everywhere June 13. The 48 degree water slows the fish bite down considerably. 10 miles north, it is 52 degrees where folks are fishing for salmon.
