Not only are the temps getting hotter but so is the fishing. This past week we have fished Flamingo-Key Largo and from Islamorada to flamingo. This past weekend we fished the SWT Series ( Shallow Water Tournament Series www.swtseries.com) out of flamingo. We were going after tarpon, snook, redfish and seatrout. We jumped off a nice tarpon early on in the day but manage to catch snook to 25" , redfish to 25" and trout to 23" for a total of 73 points good for 3rd place overall.
Key largo this week has also been getting hot with some intense bonefish action with fish cruising, mudding and tailing. Poling stealthly and making a suddle presentation to not spook the fish is the key to capitalize. We have also had shots at tarpon just about every trip. Florida bay has been hot with redfish, snook and trout patrolling the flats. I was also part of a two boat trip thanks to Capt. Benny Blanco from www.fishingflamingo.com who set the trip up. We ran from Islamorada to florida bay and caught seatrout, jacks, bluefish and had shots at tarpon, snook and redfish. The fishing is excellent just about anywhere right now in south florida and everything from redfish and snook to bonefish, tarpon and permit are on the menu. The weather is nice, the fishing is great, its time to go fishing!!
