Today we had on board Jason and Kristin Reifsnyder, Kristin Chartered the trip for Jason's 31 st Birthday. Had Jim "Boo Boo" working the deck for me. Due to travel and schedules we had an 11 am start time. Thought the later start was going to work well as NOAA was calling for a sloppy morning and a calm afternoon, yeah right.

Headed out in bright sunny skies, was a little sloppy coming around the hook but once around she was nice and calm.

We were running to the south for some bottom fishing and we came across fish busting and birds working about 3/4 mile off the beach. The Pod was moving fast and they looked like Fat Alberts.

Motored ahead of the school and started casting, Jason hooked up and the fight was on, he was rewarded with a nice 29" Striper

, his first Striper ever. Had 2 more hook ups and misses before the fish disappeared.

SEarched around found reads but could not get any more takers. Again headed south to the Rocks.

By the time we made it to the Rocks we had a strong SE wind blowing against the tide. Made a couple drops before we got on a productive piece.

Once were we wanted to be started hauling up Sea Bass, Porgies and Tog. By now the wind was blowing hard against a strong tide, we were laying side to 4 footers with a nice 6 thrown in every now and then, lines were headed toward the anchor.

Dispite sporty conditions Jason and Kristin held on and we boxed a good amount of Sea Bass and Porgies from short fish.

After getting slammed on the hook headed north on a 4-5 ft following sea, got some nicce marks and went on the troll, nadda. Continued north and had birds working from East Pointe to the Sea Gulls nest about 1/2-3/4 mile off the beach. Solid reads, but could not hookup, Bass were on millions of rain fish and could not get them to take.

Ran back into the bay and tried a couple spots before it was time to head in. Did a little sight seeing before we docked.

Back at the dock Jim "Boo Boo" Handled the days catch.

Great day out with a great couple, I know a lot of regulars who would have cried uncle for the conditions they mastered.
