Water temp was 93 where I have been fishing but that does not seem to bother them much.
This is a report by Rick from Utah.
Hey Jeff,
Here is my report:
I planned a cruise for my wife and I and really wanted to do a fishing trip while I was in Florida. I decided to google for tarpon/snook guides and found Jeff. I checked out his webcite and the posts of the recent people that had gone with him. The pictures of the huge fish they caught were all I needed. I had never caught a snook or landed a tarpon before. I booked a half-day trip for me and a friend of mine from Florida and we headed out.
HOLY CRAP DID WECATCH FISH! Jeff had us into fish within about an hour or so. Snook after snook after snook, (pictured below)! Every cast for about an hour was non-stop action. And the best thing of all was they were all really nice sized with a few lunkers, the biggest measuring 42"! We ended up catching 7 snook with a few that got away.
After the bite died down we went after the tarpon. We hooked into a couple and they threw the hook pretty quick. The last one we hooked was on good! I had been fighting it for about 20 minutes or so before a %#$@^* boat drove between me and the fish and cut the line! We tried a little longer to hook another one then it was time to call it a night. We ended up not boating a tarpon but it was a blast fighting with them. I know next time I'm down Jeff will get me into them again for another shot.
I was so thrilled with the trip. It exceeded my expectations and I would recommend Jeff to anyone. If you go with him, you WILL catch fish without a doubt!
Thanks again Jeff for getting me into a fish of a lifetime!
