A Family Affair
By: Capt. Hap Farrell
During the summer most of our visitors are families. Many times they are extended families made up of multiple generations. This last Monday, the 3rd of August, I took one of these families out. The Gray family has been coming with me for years. The grandfather, one of his sons, and his sons kids and at times some of their friends come fishing. The nice thing about fishing with this family is that they don't demand that I find the biggest bass. They just enjoy the boat ride and just going fishing. However, they always seem to do well. Cassandra and Ashley, the two young women seem to land the biggest fish on most trips.
On this trip it was Cassandra that landed the biggest bass, which was not all that big as fish go but compared to what we have been finding on the shoals it was average. She is the young woman to the far left in the photo. Her sister had the next biggest fish.
Now there is another generation to deal with. This young man should be ready to go fishing in about 5 to 6 more summers. Then I'll have 4 generations of the Gray family out chasing the fish of Cape Cod Bay. Ashley had a baby boy this last winter.
