I've been off limits for the last month for the Bassmaster Weekend Series National Championship. Practice started last Sunday and the first day was extremely tough. I had 3 bites with the biggest fish being 4 lbs. Monday the fishing got a lot better having 40 bites with a bunch of 3-4 lb fish exploding on my frog. Tuesday wasn't as good but still had 10 bites in just a couple hours. The first day of the tournament My co-angler and I caught over 40 keepers. I was in 27th after the first day with 14.42. I had bigger fish to bite my frog but never got it just kept missing it. The next day I had 14.52 and moved to 12th all bites came on a frog. Then a huge cold front blew through and fishing got tougher. I caught 13.62 on day 3 and moved to 8th place. The last day was the coldest and the bigger fish started to bite the frog again. I caught 17.62 the last day and moved to 6th overall. It was a fun tournament but nerve racking throwing a frog for four days but the gamble paid off with a good finish. I will be back guiding Monday and this winter should be great. I have new reduced winter rates and Christmas Gift Certificates are now available.
