Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 3/15/08
Water Temperature 58 degrees
It was another great week on the water, the big fish are moving up shallow and the bite has been generally excellent. Over this past week we had some 19 to 25 pound stringers, we managed a big fish or more every day except one and the numbers overall is picking up.
With the water temperature picking up the bite will improve, we should see the bass nearing the spawn shortly and the male fish should get real active around the beds.
This past week we fished Punisher Spinner baits, rattle baits, Mister Twister 11 inch-worms in black neon color, swim baits and some Mister Twister Comida's also in black neon color.
I fished the mid and upper part of the lake most of the week targeting 2 to 5 foot water with a mixture of milfoil and hydrilla, working flats near deep water. We also looked for red clay banks as starting points to find fish. It seemed the best bite came on the sunny days that the sun warmed the water and got the bait moving. The fish still aren't everywhere but when you found them it paid off in good numbers and good size.
Come fish beautiful Lake Guntersville, it is the ideal time on the lake.
