Soon as we left the dock heading west Tuesday morning July the 2nd I slowed down and told my client Craig Gladue from Augusta Georgia we should put the rain gear on…
You could see the heavy rain about 2 miles away and that was exactly where we were heading start fishing. I have no problem fishing in the rain as long as there is none of that bright cracking stuff mixed in…
We made 2 drifts with live shrimp and caught one very small Trout and at that spot if that happens you might as well move on. With only a 4hr trip and the rain coming down I decided to head to the back waters and target the Flounder and Red fish.
The rain ended soon and the Flounder and Reds turned on. We were fishing minnows under small corks in 2 foot of water just above the shell mounds. We caught quite a few Flounder mostly small but plenty big enough to make a good meal.
We also caught several Red fish in the 6lb range. Most of the Reds were caught on crab baits. What started off wet and it ended up being a beautiful morning and some good fishing?
Thanks for a good time Craig.
