Fishing report for the week ending 11/23/2011
At a chance of sounding repetious we are getting as many as two or even three fronts a week. Its hard to tell from day to day which directions the wind will come from next, the one thing for sure is its jacket time.
With highs only in the mid to upper sixties our water will probably stay at or below sixty making the fish hold up in deeper areas. Sea trout, rat reds (under ther slot) and sheepshead are the norm, anything you fish with needs to be lower and slower. Pothole fishing and grassy bottom with 3-6ft. of depth is the way to go. I like to start these spots either with a suspending plug or white redfish magic on a jig head, if these don"t produce be sure to try the old reliable live shrimp under a popping cork or on a jig head on the bottom.
Remember keep your retrieve slow so the fish don"t have to work for it.
Fear not spring is in sight and its just the right time to book trips for Tarpon season mid April thru July. Reservations are suggested.
