Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 10/12/07
This past week on the water has been extremely tough; the bass just have not bite well at all. We struggled all week just to get a bite and I must say it was very frustrating for me. We fished several different areas of the lake from All-Reds Marina to BB Comer Bridge and no matter where I was I just couldn't find active fish. We caught fish but they were here and there and just didn't really catch enough to have a good day.
The best day I had we put 9 fish in the boat over the day and we found those on a big worm in the 5 to 6 foot ditches in front of the grass breaks. We fished several baits over the week, spinner baits, traps, big worms, top water baits and others and nothing really turned the fish on. The best bite came on Punisher Spinner Bait in Ghost color over scattered grass in 2 to 3 foot of water.
The only thing I can do after a tough week is start over this week and work hard for my customers to find some active fish. I'll be back on the water toughing out these blue bird sky days with hopes that the cold nights will bunch the fish up and move them to the shallows for the feeding frenzy that generally occurs before winter sets in.
