We started the morning off with 3 single bluefin tuna bites that some how managed to spit the hook. About mid morning we found the mother load. There were tuna in every direction. Our first fish was brought in by 14 year old Devin Crapo. It measured 68 inches and weighed in at 162 lbs. After catching several more for release citations we decided to try to put some of our younger anglers on some tilefish. Although the bluefin may have been a little tough for these young men they certainly had no problem showing everyone else, myself included, how to catch a tilefish. Some of the other boats did make a few reports of yellowfin, hopefully they will continue to show up over the next week.

Company: Country Girl Fishing Charters

Area Reporting: Outer Banks

Bio: Our Carolina-style charter boat plays a special role in the Oregon Inlet fleet being the only one licensed and built to take more than six anglers per Gulf Stream Charter. The 57-foot vessel was built by Capt. Allan with the help of his father-in-law, local legend Buddy Cannady of BC Boatworks. Open from cabin to stern on both sides, the Country Girl is very spacious. She is also safe and fast with all the amenities to make trips comfortable and fun. Ocean-going trips are rewarding not only offering the chance to catch sizable meat fish and billfish but also for the nature one can witness.
