Storms, Storms and more Storms! Things are still out of whack in Jacksonville Florida due to Fay last week. The water is very dirty and the tides are way above normal. I did have 2 charters this week that were pretty tuff. We did catch quite a few fish but not much size to any of them…
Looks like another storm will be headed up the East coast of Florida by the end of the week so I know the phones will not be ringing. I also wish the best for Louisiana with a very strong Hurricane in there cross hairs. Hopefully the people will get out of there now.
On one of my trips this past Tuesday I had Paul and Rob Mason and Rob's two boys Gehret and Parker. You know how I am with kids its all about them. I went to a spot in the river to float fish where I was sure the kids would get some kind of action…
Fishing in about 14 foot of water with live Shrimp we were wearing out the small Trout. Not any size but we were all happy for the action. I think we caught 2 dozen Trout with a few small Jack's mixed in. After the tide slowed down so did that bite!!!
We moved to the creeks for the last hour of the trip to try the Red fish. I was able to locate some smaller Reds that were feeding and I think everybody got to catch one. They weren't monsters but a solid 3 pound range and a lot of fun. They pulled a little better than the small Trout. All in all not bad for the conditions.
Thanks for a great time everyone.
