It seems that the bite this Spring is timed to afternoon sunlit days. My last outing started with pleanty of fish under the boat but no bites. Then like someone had turned on the switch (2:00) the bite was on!! Every cast we placed from the shore by the Dolphins on the East bank in 20' of water produced a fish. Large chartruse Half & Halfs on 2/0 hooks, fished slowly with a little twitch rang the bell. We were using 8wt. fly rods with 350gr. Teeny SWS lines. The largest fish went 30" fat inches and took my sport into the backing twice !!! A great way to start the season.
