Fishing with Ken Magee and his son Blake yesterday the 16th it was all about just catching some fish mainly for Blake. Ken had told me when he booked it that he didn't care what we fished for he just wanted his son to catch a few…
After the last week of chasing the reluctant Red fish only to catch a few nice ones I was ready for some easy action!
I loaded the float rig poles in the boat and got a live well full of shrimp and off we went. We hit several Trout spots and the corks were going down almost every drift. Most of the Trout were small but that was ok with Blake.
We did manage to boat a few nicer Trout along with some Yellow mouth. It was so nice having the steady action.
After that slowed down we went to an area in the river were the Mangrove Snapper have been thick. There has been a bunch of nice Mangroves in the river this year. I started putting on small pieces of shrimp and I bet they caught at least two dozen nice Mangrove Snapper in less than an hour.
What an easy great day of fishing. I think Blake will be asking his father to go fishing a lot more often now.
Thanks for a great time guys.
