Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 8/26/07
This week on the water has had its ups and downs; I believe the return of some 100-degree days set the bite back again. If you could find a windy day the bass hit pretty well, but if the lake was "still" you struggled to find a bite. The top water early bite is all but gone and the bites are either in groups or your struggling to find some active fish.
The good news is that the fish are hitting fairly hard when you find them. With some cooler weather and a little wind the fish could turn on real easy, as there is baitfish everywhere and it will help keep the fish feeding.
I fished mainly the mid to upper part of the lake this past week fishing a "Rat" Punisher's Spinner Bait, Tight-Line Jig and a big worm. All these baits produced fish at different times on the water this past week. The numbers were up one day and down the other.
Generally September means some cooler nights, and with plenty of baitfish all over the lake the bass will be moving quickly to the backs of the creeks for their feeding frenzy before its to cold.
There will be some great times on the water this fall! Come fish with me and let me help you enjoy Lake Guntersville.
