Headed out today with a couple of great guys from Ga.. This was the first trip to Guntersville so they were looking for more of patterns for an upcoming event in the next few months than busting a bunch of fish. That was a good thing, as the weather just has made fishing just plain tough. We hit grass lines in everything from 3-15 feet of water tossing Crankbaits, blades, and Lipless cranks(all shad colors). We started the day off with one catching a huge Gizzard Shad in the back while cranking. We then went awhile with nothing but the cold. On the next stop had one good Crappie on a crankbait in an area there should not be Crappie.LOL We then moved on and hit some ledges where Rodney and I had been catching some solid keepers up river. I was getting cold so I picked up a rod and boated the first Bass for the day. I then handed the rod to my client without another bite. We then moved further up river fishing secondary creek channels on grass lines. After alot of casting he boated the fish in the pic.. They had a couple of fish slap the bait but never hook up. We then moved back toward the ramp with him boating one more on a lipless crank before calling it a day. Total for the day was about 3 or 4 slaps and 3 boated fish not counting the shad and crappie, which as slow as today was we were glad to see those to keep us warm.LOL The weather is looking to be better in the coming weeks and the bite is alot better when the sun gets out. All but one of the fish were boated in the very brief times the sun peeked out for a couple of mins.. Hope everyone had a great weekend and thanks to everyone that dropped by the WAAY 31 booth to say hello and talk at the Huntsville Boat Show. I will be off the water Monday helping out All Pro Marine haul some boats to Birmingham. I'll be back at it on Tuesday. See you on the water.
God Bless
