Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 6/28/08
It's been just another great week on Guntersville; the bass fed top water early and kept the days alive by cooperating even up into the day. We found bass at all depths most of the week, in the deep water during the mid day and less than 10 feet in the mid mornings.
I found that it really didn't matter where on the lake you fished it was all about grass, if you could find the stringy milfoil the bass were active. Most of the week I fished from mid river up to BB Comer, using Mister Twister Big Worms, Tight-Line ' and 1 oz. black and blue jigs flipping the grass and using the worm on the ledges. It appears that the lizard bite has changed to a big 11 inch Mister Twister worm, from red colors to june bug and green.
We fished a variety of top water baits at first light, it seemed to me they bite on all of them. When the grass was thick we threw a buzz frog and pop-r's out away from the grass.
The good times should continue, the flipping bite will get better and it should be a great summer on the lake. I have days available in July and August please call for details. I'm now deep into my 3-hour top water trips and having a lot of action the first three hours of the morning!
