This morning was another low water day with as all day incoming tide. Today, we fishing the lower end of Tampa Bay and was able to get out and wade. It's always good to wear some sort of foot protection. I use hard soled high to diving shoes with zipper on the side for an easy on/off. We fished with our backs toward the shore using the mangroves as a wind break. Easing along we pitched live shrimp on a jighead into every pothole. It was a good day to say the least. We caught redfish, trout and some nice flounder. We switched to Gulp Shrimp when the shrimp ran out and continued catching plenty of fish. Gulp baits attract everything, especially those aggravating pinfish and puffers. You can always tell a puffer strike because there is a chunk missing where a pinfish just clips the tail off.
I decided to try something I hadn't done in years and that's trolling for some deeper water trout (6-9 feet). It paid off with several nice trout, two decent sea bass and small gag.
