Artificial Reefs Located in less than fifty feet of water!
What started out to be a bad fish catching report for this area during the first of the week took a turn as the week progressed. For some reason it looked as though the offshore waters has a serious fresh water mix. The ocean looked brackish in color and it was absolutely barren of any sort of live bait. There were a few reports of fishermen catching and few as well some isolated catches of loading up on bait. However, it was more of them not catching and I was one of those fishermen. Normally at this time of the year we stop in these areas, catch 150 to 200 live baits, which takes less than thirty minutes and move on to the offshore fishing grounds. The bottom line to this report is that fact that bait isn't where it normally is. The bait that you do find is usually holding close to the bottom, which means it necessary to keep those gold hook bait rigs near or right on the bottom. When you do happen to hook up even one baitfish I suggest pulling it in and being happy about your single catch!
