Prince Rupert salmon fishing for the 2008 season has come to an end. This year was one of the best I have experienced in a long time. The large Chinook showed up early this season so mid May was hot and heavy for these big lunkers. The Spring salmon were all up the rivers in the Prince Rupert area by Mid August. Coho salmon also showed up early this year. The first ones I tagged into was the end of June. Almost 2 weeks early.
This made for some great days of full limit salmon fishing. Some days we had our limits of both species by 10 AM. This left the rest of the day to Halibut fish and bottom Jig for Lingers and Red Snapper. Crabbing was hot early season in the Prince Rupert harbour but seemed to slow down by mid season due to over harvesting.
Prince Rupert Salmon fishing and Halibut fishing has been described as fast and furious. Deep Spring Charters provides all your fishing needs to have a great fishing trip.
