We offer Fort Lauderdale fishing charters including sailfish fishing, kingfish fishing, swordfishing, and light tackle offshore fishing for many other fishing species.
Did you know that the Atlantic Sailfish can reach surging speeds of up to 50 miles per hour? They are also known to be very acrobatic when they are hooked up to your fishing line. As with most fish, when they feel the pressure from the rod and reel they attempt to throw the hook immediately. If you have fast eyes, the second your rod doubles over you will see the Sailfish tail walking with great speed. You can expect anywhere from 10-60 minutes fight time when hooked up to a Sailfish.
You can expect to hook-up with a Sailfish on any given day providing the conditions are fishable. We generally use live baits such as goggle eyes and Pilchards or Herring, but Ballyhoo, Blue runners and Bonito can be used too. Common in south Florida is the kite fishing technique. This is a great way to watch a Sailfish come up to your dangling baits on the surface.
We release all of our Sailfish with the exception of keeping one once in awhile to make a delicious smoked fish dip. You can also choose to have your trophy catch mounted. All mounts are custom made to the size of your catch. There is no need to ever kill the fish. If your charter crew insists on killing your Sailfish for the mount, you are dealing with a less than professional crew who is only trying to make you feel guilty for killing the fish to get the mount. All that is needed is a quick measurement for your custom mount.
Our Sailfishing season starts in November with stronger numbers coming through our waters and will continue throughout the winter months. They can be caught all year round but the heavy concentration comes through in our winter
