The Hidden Value
If you have kept up with the news over the past year one thing you realize is that the greatest country in the world is in turmoil. Our presidential race is the tale of two clowns trying to out-do one another with insults and lies; the people who have chosen sides over this presidential race are fighting each other over a choice of which candidate they like and willing to literally fight one another over their views and the country is full of disaster after disaster.
We on the other hand live in a small country community surrounded by one of the greatest fisheries in the country and are blessed every day to start the day off surrounded by paradise. In most cases our community gets along, sure we have a problem or two, but at the end of the day our small country values gives us hope and pride that there are people who just want to live their lives in small country towns and still trust our neighbor to do the right thing. We can all have our views, we can choose our presidential candidate or not and go about our business enjoying what good times we can create every day.
Watching the news is the most discouraging thing you can do every day, riots over choice from presidents to neighborhoods and more. The people we have trusted to protect and serve the people have lost their good names and leadership constantly hiding the truth from us all over money, sex and power is a daily occurrence. These actions however have managed to escape the small towns surrounding Lake Guntersville and with the ability to put your boat in the water you can move on away from these troubled times and enjoy yourself, by going fishing. The term that has become the new buzz word for our troubled times "transparency" is just another political ploy to make people think that leadership is doing the right thing. Maybe it is or maybe not but one thing I can tell you is true; when you get on the water and have a big ole bass tapping on the end of your line all these lies, innuendos and power struggles go away!
