Tom was guiding for us today and took Rodney and his father down the river. They were nymphing and Tom had Rodney on the program and he was doing everything he needed to do. He was hooking a bunch of fish, hooking some nice fish but it was super hot again today. It was too many days of hot weather, there was a noticeable decline in the number of fish that were working because Rodney was doing everything that Tom wanted him to do and everything that's been working exceptionally well the past week. Despite the fact that he was still getting fish, if he had done the same thing four days ago he would have gotten so many fish it would have blown his mind. The rivers warming up, the water temperature is almost at 70 degrees F, so it's getting to the point that these fish are not as active as they were for sure. As the day heated up in the afternoon the fish had slowed down a bit. They still got about 15 fish in the boat which is always respectable but when Rodney fished as well as he had- if he had done the same thing a few days ago he would have probably had double that number.
