Well, I am finally back on the water with my charters. I basically took the month of July off for family reunions, vacations, and helping my brother at our resort because several of his employees took vacations. But I'm back now. And it feels good. And as usual, the bite is very good. August continues to be my favorite month for fishing the Bays de Nocs for high numbers of "eating size" walleye. On yesterdays trip, my clients had their 10 fish limit by 8:00 am. And we didn't launch the boat until 6:30! It was a very fast and furious hour and a half to say the least. I decided to catch some fish for myself for a fish fry this weekend, so we fished a little while longer catching 4 more. We ended up with 14 walleye from 16"-21". Just perfect for the frying pan. I also kept a 34" pike and let another go that about 30". Todays trip was very good too with us having our limit by 9:00 am. Since my clients had their limit, we decided to make it a half day trip and came in early. All in all, the bite right now is awesome with the best area being between Gladstone and Escanaba in about 32 feet of water. Here is a picture from yesterday. See you on the water folks...
