What a beautiful day on the Bay. Today's trip was with good friend and long time client Dale DeWildt and his friend Betty from the Appleton area of Wisconsin. We left the Gladstone Yacht Harbor just before 7 a.m.and we had 20 keepers in the boat by 11 a.m. We released 5 nice fish as well as some smallmouth bass and some undersized walleyes. It was a great morning of casting jigs and crawlers, a really fun way to fish when you find lots of fish in shallow water. Most fish were in the 16 to 19 inch range, but we had a couple bigger fish as well and lost some nice fish too. Color didn't really matter today...as long as it was green! For a while this morning I wasn't sure if we'd get out, there was a lot of lightning to the north and they were calling for thunderstorms all morning. I'm glad we got them out, it was another fun trip on the bay. Dale must think this is the greatest fishery in the world, because we've been fortunate enough to get limits the last several times we've fished together. We only saw three other boats on the water all morning. The fishing has been fantastic this summer, I can't believe there's so few people out there fishing. Here's a picture and some video too of today's catch, good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
